If you’re a birder you would visit sewerage treatment plants just for the fun of it. If you’re nearby Byron Bay there is a nice little retired sewerage treatment plant at Suffolk Park. With a broad estuarine waterway running along side, there is a great mix of birds, of which one is the Red-backed Fairy Wren.

On my last visit a few weeks ago the water was clear, the sky blue and the Red-backs were hopping about without a care.
