Believe it or not, women have not always been able to vote in Victoria. Hard to believe I know but this injustice, (call it what you like) was eventually rectified after the Great Petition. A petition of 30,000 signatures.

However, despite the number of signatories on the Great petition, it still took 17 years to give women the vote.
