I’m at Bendigo.   Friday, (tomorrow) I’m meeting a “Raptor” expert at Mildura to discuss a couple of things but on the way it became dark, so I stopped. Where to stay? Luckily I found a quaint little pub in Bendigo that should keep me warm. Actually it also has food and a nice local red.

We had a great day today for Hooded Plovers. A Parks Victoria appointed working group has unanimously recommended the total banning of dogs on Mornington Peninsula National Park ocean beaches. Whilst the battle has yet to be finished, it’s a big step forward for Hooded Plover conservation. 🙂

When you surround grass with seating for 100,000 people it can impact on it’s growth. To combat this, you bring the light to the grass.

Mind you, I’m only guessing this is what’s going on.  I really have no idea.

Liptrap pebbles

Many of my photographs are of things one would normally walk over. These pebbles and shells at Cape Liptrap were so good I had to keep them. I use this shot as the background on my twitter page, @malbrown2

I love being in central Melbourne. The gardens, cheep coffee, the vibe and women wearing boots in winter.

Getting in is the hard part.

As a child my mum took me to the Fitzroy gardens. She loved the Autumn and leaves.  Apparently I do too.

Leaves on the ground can be better than in the tree.

Despite my being someone who strives for more indigenous revegetation, you cannot ignore the beauty of autumn leaves.

This truck has been sitting in this driveway for so long it’s covered in moss and some form of Jasmine. But despite it’s age it kinda looks good.

During our trip to Central Australia, we visited and hiked to the top of Mt Sonder.  It was a tough walk with rubble underfoot and steep sections but it was worth getting to the summit.
